Prevention
The best way to avoid tooth pain or dental problems is prevention. Our goal is to catch things before they become problems. This can be done with routine cleanings and check-ups, usually done every 6 months. Deep cleanings (Scaling and Root Planing) are offered at our office for patients that require additional attention to their gums due to periodontal disease.
Fillings
Decay (caries), if large enough, can cause pain or cause teeth to break. If detected early enough, decay can be removed and teeth can be restored with different fillings materials. These can be discussed with Dr. Ramirez at your visits to ensure we are using the best material for your needs.
Crowns
Some teeth require complete coverage with a strong material in order to prevent the tooth from breaking. There are many reasons a crown may be recommended such as after receiving a root canal or if a tooth has been filled multiple times.Â
Bridges
Bridges are a way to replace one or more teeth if dental implants are not an option. Bridges are cemented in place allowing you to function without the hassle of a removable partial.
Dentures
If multiple teeth or if all teeth are missing, they may be replaced with partials or full dentures. There are different types of partials and dentures. These can be discussed with Dr. Ramirez to determine the best option for you.
Extractions
Dental extractions, or tooth extractions, involve removing a tooth from its socket in the jawbone due to irreparable damage, severe decay, or overcrowding. They can be simple, with minimal intervention for visible teeth, or surgical, requiring more complex techniques like incisions or bone removal.
Emergency Visits
Emergency visits are available for established or new patients to focus on a specific problem area. The goal for the visit is to determine the best solution for your specific problem. Sometimes, if your problem may be related to many other factors, a comprehensive exam may be recommended for the best long term outcome.
